Who is responsible

This site is run by Austin Tech Solutions Ltd, the data controller for anything collected here. Registered in England and Wales, company number 16215955, at 1 Abbeydale Grove, Leeds, LS5 3RE.

For any question about your data, email mark@austintechsolutions.co.uk.

The contact form

If you send a message, the form collects your name, email address and message, plus the date you sent it. It's emailed straight to me so I can reply. It isn't saved to a database, added to a mailing list or used for anything else.

The legal basis is legitimate interests: you've asked me something, and I need your details to answer. While your message is being sent, your IP address is held briefly in memory to stop the form being flooded, then forgotten.

I delete messages that don't lead to any work after 12 months. If one does turn into a project, it becomes part of the client record, which is covered by the Austin Tech Solutions privacy policy.

Analytics

The site uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count visits and measure how fast pages load. Neither sets cookies or stores anything on your device. Visits are counted using a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours, so you can't be recognised from one day to the next and nothing is tied to you. That's why there's no cookie banner.

What's stored in your browser

If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it. It never leaves your device, and clearing your site data removes it.

Who else handles it

  • Vercel hosts the site and runs the contact form.
  • Google (Gmail) delivers and stores the emails the form sends.

Both may process data outside the UK, under the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how it's used. Email mark@austintechsolutions.co.uk and I'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
